15 years experience, only quality materials, and
you don't have to worry about becoming lost in
Corporate Indifference!
My primary media is Photography.
I print my images on film and then start
expanding on those images. Depth is usually
what I am after. Images that continue to change,
evolve. Ones that display something new each time
you look at them.
My
film etchings
are
actual etched film. These pieces are printed on
film and then etched and pigmented. I use
the film as the plate. Using an etching tool I
change an individual photograph,
through the etching process and create something
individual. The final image is a blend of
etching, drawing and photography. They are full
of detail and due to the quality of film and the
lighting effects this medium enables, the image
is continually changing and recreating itself.
My
screens and room dividers
evolved out of a
desire to bring art off the walls and into the
living space. These screens are reminiscent
of the Japanese Shoji screens, but modernized to
the extreme. They are all made of Ortho Litho
Black & White Film, covered with Resin. The film
is cut and placed onto the screen base.
Some have a marbleized back, some have etched
film which can bring in more color. They all
have many details; see-thru holes; scenes
blended together; geometric shapes; all of
which add to the depth of the piece. Each screen is one of a kind
and is continually changing with different
lighting scenarios.
The
Free Form
Acrylic Works
are an exercise in abstraction. They are made of plexiglas
with acrylic medium and colored enamels. They can be used in
a variety of ways, including cabinet doors, window hangings,
room dividers, and just about anything a designer can think
of.
